  • Locally Sourced

We source most of our vegetables from local farms. That means just a day or two between harvest and fermentation. This preserves phytonutrients and creates a more nutritious product.

  • Salt Water Brine

We use mineral-rich, pure and unrefined Mediterranean sea salt. It’s non-iodized and contains no caking agents or added preservatives.

  • Zero Vinegar or Sugar

Pickles containing vinegar or sugar are not lactic acid fermented and therefore are not a probiotic, gut-healthy pickle. Period.

  • Illustration of happy beneficial bacteria

    Raw & Unpasteurized

Some call it ‘wild fermentation’ because it creates an abundant growth of natural, live probiotics. Pasteurization would kill these live cultures, so we don’t do it.

How to Eat Fermented Foods

It's a lifestyle, not a fad or a phase.

Consistently eating probiotic foods over the course of your life is the key to optimal results. A serving size, 3 times a day is about right.

Mix it up.

Consume an abundant variety of ferments. Each one has a unique microbial profile and your gut thrives on this biodiversity.

Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. Snacks.

Because 70% of your energy is spent on digestion, when you eat ferments with meals, their enzymes aid this process. The result is more energy for you.

FAQs

What are fermented vegetables?

At Olive My Pickle, we’ve learned that you can ferment just about anything!  What we have today is our collection of the best fermented vegetables: Veggie Medley, Spicy Beans, Okra and California Garlic. All of these are made with the same process of fermentation as our pickles, kraut and kimchi.

What’s your most popular fermented vegetable?

That’s our Veggie Medley, which is a chunky green cabbage base, with carrots, cauliflower, red bell peppers and celery. In the italian tradition, this goes by the name Giardiniera.

How should I eat fermented vegetables?

Eat fermented vegetables just like you would a pickle. As a snack, or chopped up in a salad are our favorite ways. They are a great addition to a cheese board too.

Which types of probiotic bacteria are in fermented vegetables?

Fermented vegetables contain 13 billion colony forming units (CFUs) of lactic acid bacteria per serving. A serving is one quarter cup, or about 2 tablespoons. The most abundant types of probiotic bacteria found in fermented vegetables are Lactobacillus Plantarum, Lactobacillus Pentosus and Brevis Leuconostoc Mesenteroids.

What are the health benefits of fermented vegetables?

Real, salt-water brine fermented vegetables  contain naturally occurring probiotics that are optimal for gut health. Each fermented vegetable contains a unique microbial composition, and your microbiome thrives on exposure to this biodiversity.

Not to brag, but people really love us.

    Something new and very yummy

This is something that I wish I'd come in a much bigger bag because it was extremely delicious. I was definitely expecting something I would enjoy but not as much as I did. Will definitely be getting this again after I try a few more things.

    Wonderful.

I enjoy it so much except I feel it needs more cauliflower and less red peppers.
